World Emergency Medicine Day 2022

World Emergency medicine day encourages people to come together and talk about emergency medical care. On 27th May 2022, the ER team of ADK hospital participated in raising awareness around the importance of emergency medicine. Other than participating in the Open Day activities and teaching Basic Life Support (BLS) and Basic First Aid, ADK Hospital relayed an important message to the people of Maldives through social media.

First Shoulder joint replacement surgery in Maldives.

1st shoulder joint replacement surgery in Maldives has been conducted in ADK Hospital on 12th May 2022. The patient was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis of the right shoulder. In this specific condition, the joint tissues and cartilage breaks down. This causes the patient to gradually lose function as the aching rises due to the friction in the joints. The surgery conducted is commonly known as the stemless anatomic shoulder replacement.

 

World hand hygiene Day Celebration 2022

On 5th May 2022 in honor of world hand hygiene ADK Hospital held an event to celebrate the cause. The motivation behind world hand hygiene day is to encourage all the health care workers to prioritize and believe in the importance of having clean hands in order to save lives. ADK as an institute has completed 5 years of hand hygiene audit.
