NICU gets a needed uplift

Through out the years, although ADK Hospital is renowned for the Obstetrics and Gynaecology services provided, neonatal care has been limited. Despite these limitations, the staff had been providing commendable care for those tiny babies who require critical neonatal care.

The Hospital has now developed a plan to expand the neonatal care setup to a modern and highly sophisticated one. Initial plans have been drawn up and required equipment procurement is now being undertaken.

One of the main limitations in the past had been that of space and carrying out some available interventions were also limited due to this fact. Hence, there was a dire need to increase the space on an urgent basis. Taking this into account, a new space has been allocated and operations of this interim NICU started on the 18^th of August 2012.

This setup though is an interim arrangement till a new NICU is developed as per the mentioned plan. The Hospital’s continuous efforts to develop and improve care will be realized in the area of Neonatal care in the not too distant future.
