MRI Services at ADK Hospital

April 6, 2013

ADK Hospital inaugurated MRI Services in the Maldives for the first time in year 2003. Since then, the Hospital has provided MRI services to the whole Maldives for the past 10 years. This Hospital is still the only facility that provides this service in the country.

In the recent past, some politicians have spread misleading and non-factual information about this service at political forums, and hence the Hospital at this juncture publishes this article to clarify the facts to the public who has confidently been using the service.
The MRI machine at ADK Hospital is manufactured by SIEMENS, which is one of the world's leading medical imaging equipment manufacturers and was purchased directly from the manufacturer on full payment. While acknowledging the fact that the current MRI machine at the Hospital has served a significant time and the technology had developed during these years, the Hospital understands the need for an upgrade in the system. However, it has to be also acknowledged the the work of the machine is still good and diagnoses and interpretaions made from the test conducted by the machine are up to par.
ADK Hospital will always thrive to bring the best of care to all those who seek services from us and we assure you that we will not use any technology that do not meet the mandatory conformity marking required for standards of products sold in the European Economic Area (CE).
