New Chief Medical Officer

On August 7, 2012, Dr. Abdulla Niyaf joined the Hospital as the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and will also practice in the pediatric department as Senior Consultant in Pediatrics. The services of Dr. Niyaf will have an immense positive effect on the pediatric department. The Management anticipates his valuable contributions in improving the quality of services at ADK Hospital. This is the first time that a Maldivian specialist has been appointed as the Chief Medical Officer of ADK Hospital. The Management and the staff of the Hospital welcomes the addition to the team and convey their best wishes to Dr. Niyaf in his new employment. Taking up fulltime employment ADK Hospital by Dr. Niyaf is an indication of the acceptance of the Hospital as a center of excellence within the local medical community. The Management of ADK Hospital will work to attract and retain more local talent in different medical specialties.

At this juncture, the Management would like to thank the former CMO, Dr. Srinivasan Nitin for his contributions and hard work during his tenure as the CMO. Also working as a Consultant in ENT, Dr. Nitin’s contributions towards quality improvement and support to the medical departments are noteworthy. The Management wishes him all the success in his future endeavors and wishes him luck for the future. It is also important to note that due to the vacancy created by the departure of Dr. Nitin and until the time the new CMO had been appointed, Dr. Mijares filled in the CMO position on an interim basis. The acceptance of Dr. Mijares to take the interim position is acknowledged by the Management and takes this opportunity to thank him for his contributions.
