Say YES to breastfeeding

A workshop on breastfeeding practices is currently being held for nurses and community health officers at Addu City. This workshop is organised by the Hithadhoo Regional Hospital in collaboration with ADK Hospital.

 

The aim of this workshop is to provide proper information and techniques for breastfeeding awareness creation within the community. The health professionals, including health workers, nurses and doctors will utilize the knowledge and awareness gained from this workshop to educate mothers on proper feeding practicies.

The workshop will cover topics on exclusive breast feeding, proper techniques in breastfeeding, common breastfeeding problems and how to slove them. In adddition, topics on the Code of Marketing Breastmilk Substitues and the baby friendly hospitals initiative will be presented at the workshop.

The Senior Consultant in Pediatrics of ADK Hospital, Dr. Abdulla Niyaf will be the main facilitator of the workshop. It is ADK Hospital's aim to collaborate with different communities in promoting health as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility programmes of the Hospital.
