Developing a culture of safety; patient safety workshop

Patient safety workshop was conducted by School of Health Sciences of ADK Hospital from 11 to 13 October. Workshop participants are from ADK Hospital, IGMH and Dhamanaveshi. Total numbers of 50 participants are under taking the training. This workshop is initiated by ADK Hospital patient safety committee which includes patient safety nurses.

Aims of the workshop are:

  • To improve awareness of the magnitude and importance of patient safety
  • To improve awareness of the principles and methodologies in patient safety and how this relates to delivering safe and quality services to patient
  • To be able to recognize the importance and advocate for a culture of safety in the workplace
  • To build a competent and capable workforce who are aware and sensitive to patient safety
  • The School aims to conduct general trainings open for public on these areas in the near future.

    January 7, 2018 - This building is named after late Dr. R. Jaya Chidambar Pandian (MBBS, FRCH) whose dedicated services to ADKHospital are embedded from the inception of its medical services. Dr Pandian was the first and the only doctor at the time when the company started its medical services in a small clinic in 1987 under the name of Mediclinic. He continued to serve this organization for 26 long years until his last days.

    December 31, 2017 - The main reason for this gathering is to meet you all and express my gratitude to you all. I take this opportunity to wish everybody a very Happy New Year. As you know we run a huge operation here at the hospital and as I stand here today, the hospital has a staff strength of 750. ADK Hospital is continuously growing, expanding, improving and upgrading the services we deliver.
