ADK Hospital will provide free Bonedensometry for 10 Thalassaemic children every year
ADK Hospital in collaboration with Maldivian Thalassaemia Society, have today initiated a program to provide free bonedensitometry services to 10 needy thalassaemics every year. The program was launched today at a ceremony held at ADK Hospital in conjunction with World Thalassaemia Day.
Thalassaemics who due to the desease have weaker bone structures require to undergo routine bone scans as part of assessing their bone health and to take appropriate measures to ensure the risk of fractures and other degenerative issues of the bones. ADK Hospital in the only healthcare facility with this service available in the country. It is only fitting that this Hospital takes on board a CSR program to help those who suffer from the disease.
The Hospital will provide 10 free vouchers to the Maldivian Thalassaemia Society who in turn will allocate the vouchers to those children who are in most need to undergo the test.
The bonedensitometry free voucher was handed to the Maldivian Thalassaemia Society by the Managing Director of ADK Hospitals Pvt. Ltd. Mr Ahmed Afaal and was received by the President of the Maldivian Thalassaemia Society, Ms Jeehan Saleem.
